Daegu Technopolis was developed to synergize with nearby local industries to become a Research & Business Development centre for all Northeast Asia. Some of the successful industrial investments include automotive manufacturers, machinery tool fabrication, and diesel engine manufacturers. These are well supported by industrial focused R&D being carried out at both public and private centers. These include: the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Institute of Science & Technology (DGIST), the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), and the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KITECH). Technopolis also boasts a wonderful lifestyle, close to Daegu City, the area has a large nature reserve around Mt. Biseul and spacious housing for a projected population of 50,000 people.

Dues to Technopolis’ status as a Special R&D Zone by the central government, prospective tenant companies that include material research commitments have greater opportunities to receive increased incentives.
