On July 14, “Industry-Academia-Research Institute-Government Innovative Ecosystem CEO Forum’ was held at Korea Polytechnics College, Robot Campus in Yeongcheon with 50 attendees from companies, universities, research institutes, and administrative agencies.

The event featured special lecture for strengthening competitiveness of member companies, discussion on difficulties and cooperation matters for each institute, and selection of a representative for member companies in order. It plans to establish industry-university-research institute-government network to arrange the base for joint growth and plans to strengthen the competitiveness and growth of companies by seeking measures for revitalizing Yeongcheon Industry District.

Yeongcheon Industry District is one of the DGFEZ investment districts. It has been spotlighted as the industrial hub of global high-tech transportation machines, parts, and materials with its convenient transportation infrastructures including Gyeongbu Expressway and Gyeongbu Railroad and other R&D infrastructures such as Korea Polytechnics College, Robot Campus and Gyeongbuk Techno Park. As a result, the district was fully contracted in 2020 and there are 72 domestic and overseas companies signed contracts.

By having industry, university, research institute, and government fulfill their role while encouraging communication, sharing, and convergence, the district plans to enhance growth of local companies and strengthen competitiveness. It also plans to turn Daegu-Gyeongbuk region into a better place for business.
