AI Specialized Company of Capital Area Invited to the Suseong Medical District
On February 23rd, 2022, Daegu-Gyeongbuk Free Economic Zone Authority(hereinafter referred to as DGFEZ) hosted the investment agreement signing of Biz Data(Kim Taejin, CEO) through a foreign direct investment(2 million USD / Japan) to be used to relocate headquarter and establish a research facility in attendance of Kwon Youngjin, mayor of Daegu, and Choi Sam Ryong, commissioner of DGFEZ.
Biz Data is an AI/Big Data specialized company founded in 2014 and invested 15.4 billion KRW(including FDI of 2 million USD) in a site to construct its headquarters and research facilities with a plan to transfer twenty employees from the research center in Seoul and recruit 89 new employees.
Biz Data provides business data analysis and big data platform services. Recently, it expanded its business to the environment field and participated in K-water's "Pilot Business on Smart Automated Purification System in Hwaseong Plant" in 2020. It has won the "Korea Innovation Award" grand prize in AI business and is recognized for its competitive technologies.
It decided to relocate its headquarters to Daegu to develop the automated water treatment solution into its core growth engine as Daegu has the best water industry infrastructures and environmental IT specialists.
In addition, it moved to a user-customized area of Korea Water Cluster last year and focuses on developing an automated sewage treatment platform with the objective to obtain new environment technology certification in the second half of this year in partnership with water treatment and environment specializing companies.
Commissioner of DGFEZ claimed, "With Biz Data, I am looking forward to the inflow of specialists of capital areas to the region and creation of new jobs suit for the innovative local talents fostered through HuStar project " and added, "I will do my best and be supportive in creating new job opportunities in the Free Economic Zone and for it to play a huge role on the development of IT/SW industry through technology collaboration with companies in the region."
