DGFEZ to Hold 2018 Global Forum
- James Kim, Chairman of AMCHAM, Eric Balivet, CEO of PHC Valeo, a head of KOTRA Investment Planning Team, and other domestic and foreign indutrial and investment specialists were participated in the forum
- Discussing the role of DGFEZ as a stronghold of the global innovation growth and introducing the University IP exhibition


 DGFEZ announced that it would hold 2018 DGFEZ Global Forum at the Jeulgeoun Hall, 1st floor of Hotel Intebulgo on November 28 (Wednesday) at 3pm by inviting 250 representatives from Daegu City, Gyeongsangbuk-do, resident companies, universities, business support agencies, and national policy research institutes.

 Hosted by DGFEZ, 2018 Global Forum would be supported by Daegu City, Gyeongsangbuk-do, 13 universities located in Daegu-Gyeongbuk region (Business-Academic Cooperation Team) and four chambers of commerce and industry in Daegu, Gyeongsan, Pohang, and Yeongcheon, and managed by Daegu-Gyeongbuk Research Institute.

 DGFEZ, which celebrated its tenth anniversary in August, set “the Role of DGFEZ as a Stronghold of Global Innovation Growth” as the forum’s theme in order to develop plans for attracting investment that would lead the innnovation growth in Daegu-Gyeongsang region and promote its image as a global investment zone.

 A keynote by James Kim, CEO of AHCHAM, on the regional investment trends and prospect of global companies will be followed by the presentations by Eric Balivet, CEO of PHC Valeo, on conditions for successful foreign investment and local cooperation plan, and Choi, Jang-Seong, head of KOTRA Investment Plannign Team, on the role and direction of FEZ toward innovative growth.

 Furthermore, a presentation by Professor Park, Seong-Jin at POSTECH on the role of local universities for the innovation of business attraction will be followed by a panel discussion with specialists in academia, finance, media, and business among others.

 Particularly, the forum will also host the exhibition on the supporting universities’ IP and consulting desks, through which to support the exchange of the patent technologies among businesess and universities.

 The policy proposals made in the forum will be reflected onto the policy of DGFEZ in the future, and the business outcomes so far will be reviewed and the results will be used in establishing DGFEZ’s direction and roadmap in the future.

 Meanwhile, in her greetings, Commissioner Inseon Lee at DGFEZ said “DGFEZ will determine the needs of domestic and foreign companies and make further effort in attracting investment and business support so as to offer hope to local residents by creating many quality jobs,” and added that “we will make every effort in promoting this forum, which aims to take a huge step toward a global investment zone, to become DGFEZ’s key event in future.”
