The Daegu-Gyeongbuk Free Economic Zone Authority has attracted a textile machine manufacturer from the USA
The Daegu-Gyeongbuk Free Economic Zone Authority (DGFEZA) signed an MOU with New Kyungil Dyeing CO., Ltd. (Daegu, South Korea) and General Fabrics Co. (Rhode Island, USA) on December 9 for the establishment by the two latter companies of a dyeing machine factory in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Free Economic Zone. The ceremony took place in Texas.
This MOU is the first achievement of DGFEZA in enhancing and globalizing the textile industry in Daegu after moving to the Daegu Textile Complex in the Daegu International Fashion District (Esiapolis District) in September.
General Fabrics Co. is a fiber fabric manufacturer established in 1951. It will set up a textile digital print machine factory with New Kyungil Dyeing Co., Ltd. on a 9,900㎡ site in the Daegu Technopolis District. The company will invest USD 10 million in the project from 2016.
“We pay close attention to the advancement of Daegu’s textile industry, by focusing on the general-use textile industry to the functional value-added textile and related machinery industry. We will continue to do our best to help Daegu’s textile industry make a new leap forward,” said DGFEZ Commissioner Gun-Woo Do.
